Is Taylor Swift’s era now over? Not yet.
A week after Spotify announced that Swift was the artist with the most plays on the streaming service, Time magazine named her its person of the year on Wednesday.
Swift was chosen from a group of nine finalists that also included Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Barbie, and King Charles III.
Swift, 33, achieved a kind of nuclear fusion this year, despite her popularity growing over the years: bringing together commerce and art to produce a historic force,” Time said of her choice.
Her year incorporated the stunningly well known Times Visit and show film, the arrival of her reconsidered ‘1989’ collection, and her firmly watched relationship with Kansas City Bosses tight end Travis Kelce. She even appears in college classes.
Time’s 2022 Person of the Year was Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine.
